The Ultimate guide for getting quality aerial videography
Omaha Aerial Videography
Drone videography in Omaha is much harder to look like a professional compared to aerial photography in Omaha. With pictures, especially if you shoot in raw it is easy to fix mistakes; but unfortunately with aerial videos, I am going to list 5 factors that all play a factor in the shot turning out good or not.
1.Be sure that that your footage isn’t shaky.
This is the most important tip that I can give any new or experienced drone pilot wether you are shooting drone footage in Omaha or not. There are certainly some things that can be adjusted in post processing, but this isn’t one of them. If you have terrible looking footage, there is no going back
2.Get multiple different angles that showcase the subject.
Nothing is more repetitive than watching a video that has the same 2-3 camera angles shown 50 different times. Try to incorporate many different shots that combine to tell a story. Creating flow is one of the hardest jobs of a videographer. Check out this little compilation of some of my favorite shots to shoot over the summer. Omaha drone videography is absolutely stunning if you can get the Omaha skyline in the background.
3.Learn how to color grade like a pro.
This is a huge tip that I would recommend to anyone starting out. It is SUPER important to not only have the things above, but also to make sure that the colors look natural and not forced. People will be able to tell instantly if the colors look good or not. Before they see a single shot that you composed, they will see if your colors look true to life or look terrible. Make sure that the color grading that you put out does not look amateur. See my guide here to learn more about color grading in premiere pro! Check out this video by on how to color grade like a pro!
4. Shoot in D-Log.
This is for the drone photographers looking to take their footage to the next level. D-Log basically washes out all of the colors to your footage so you can apply any filter that you want to the footage in post processing. You can make it look like an old 50’s movie, or make it super saturated for a great appearance on social media.
5.Get more angles; but less time per shot.
A general rule of thumb that I like to follow is that you get a 10-15 second steady shot and only use around 5-7 seconds of that footage. It is much easier to try to make a steady 10 second shot then a shot that is 3 minutes long and try to use all of that footage.
