What makes me… me?
__ My story __
Hey! My name is Morgan Dorsey. I am a 22 year old who graduated from the University of Nebraska at Omaha with a degree in Aviation with a concentration in Unmanned Aircraft systems (Drones)!
I was born in Lincoln, Nebraska and I have always had a passion for aviation and photography. I always thought it would be cool to be a photographer, but never thought it to be a realistic career path.
I originally decided to go to UNO to pursue my dream of becoming a pilot. After I got my private pilot license in September 2020, I realized it wasn’t the path that I wanted to pursue as a career.
Then I had to pick a new path to pursue with my life. I was always interested in drone technology but it wasn’t until I had my first meeting with my former drone professor that I decided to pursue it as a career.
I am a very optimistic and determined person and love to push the boundaries of what I think I am capable of. I have completed 2 1/2 marathons and I have also completed an olympic triathlon!
While I love doing drone photography and videography, I have a big passion for teaching. I have gotten the opportunity to teach at Nebraska Indian Community college to build and develop their drone program. With this opportunity I have been able to manage grants, develop the drone courses, and finally get students opportunities to grow and get excited about drones!
I am a huge foodie and love just about anything except seafood. But, Italian and Mexican food hold a special place in my heart! I love just about every type of music you can name; my favorite artists right now are J. Cole, Luke Combs, and most importantly Post Malone! In my free time I still love to fly even though I don't want to pursue it as a career. I also love hangin' out with friends and playing golf!
